From a patient
“Dr. Meisel is the most confident and reassuring psychiatrist I have ever worked with, which is no small feat considering how individualized and complex mental health care often is. The Meisel NP practice is also really well run and efficient, highly recommended.”

How it begins
No mystery. Here’s what intake actually looks like, in the order it happens.
10 minutes
Through the Valant link. History, current medications, what you've already tried, and what you're hoping changes. You can save and come back if you need to.
About an hour
In person at Park Slope or by telehealth. Your provider takes a thorough history, asks the second question, and you build a tentative plan together. If a prescription is appropriate, you may receive one that day.
Monthly, then steady
Initially monthly so we can adjust based on how you're actually doing, not just what the chart says. Often expanded to every other month once we've found a steady rhythm. Ketamine treatments, when applicable, follow a different cadence.
Founder
As founder, Dr. Meisel (he/him) has made the mission of this practice access and collaboration. With over ten years of experience in healthcare, his approach is patient-centered and holistic, working with patients, and when applicable other providers and family members, to develop personalized and effective treatment plans.
He focuses on diagnosing and treating patients with a wide range of mental-health conditions, including substance-use disorder. He is also the primary provider here who utilizes ketamine as a treatment modality.
